Job Description

We are looking for a finance controller to join our team and oversee our accounting and financial operations. The finance controller will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, managing cash flow and budgeting, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and leading the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The finance controller shall also have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and work collaboratively with other functions.

Accounting & Finance:

- AR, AP, Capex accounting and timely book closing.

- Monthly standalone and consolidated financial statements including reporting to Holding Company

- Manage Payables, Receivables & ensuring proper internal controls are in place.

Audits:

- Managing Internal, Statutory, Tax, GST Audit, Transfer pricing, etc.

- SEBI reporting, compliances, etc.

Taxation:

- To ensure timely compliances of applicable laws like Income Tax, TDS, GST, VAT (Kenya, et al), etc.

- Liaising with statutory departments for assessment, litigations etc.

Strategic Planning:

- Preparing financial reports related to budgets, projections, cashflows, etc. as required by Management.

- Identify the key business area and coming up with MIS report to help management track financial efficiency.

Banking & Treasury:

- Cash flow monitoring and forecast.

- Treasury management including banking relationships, cash management, and funding.

Contract Management:

- Oversee the financial aspects of contract management, including reviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with financial terms, and managing risks associated with contractual agreements.

- Work closely with legal and operations teams to ensure contracts align with company policies and financial objectives

Team leadership:

- Manage and mentor the finance team, including accountants and financial analysts.

- Build a high-performance team that delivers exceptional service and supports the company's financial goals.

Stakeholder Management:

- Act as a liaison with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

- Provide clear and concise financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Proven working experience as a finance controller or a similar role in relevant industry.

- CA with atleast 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications. Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks) is a plus.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.

- Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Extensive experience in contract management, including reviewing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance with financial terms in contracts.
