Role Overview:

As a Senior Corporate Lawyer at IndiGo, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal guidance and support to the organization across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including finance, operations, and commercial, as well as external counsel, to ensure the company's legal interests are protected and that it operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role directly impacts the company's ability to navigate complex legal challenges and maintain its competitive edge in the aviation industry.

Preferred Industry Background

Strong preference for candidates with experience in: IT / ITES, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Energy, Private Equity Firms, Investment Banks, Airlines / Aviation, Reputed Law Firms.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements, including aircraft purchase agreements, lease agreements, and other commercial contracts, to protect the company's interests.

- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution, working with external counsel to develop and implement effective strategies.

- Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.

- Conduct legal due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, providing comprehensive risk assessments.

- Monitor and analyze changes in relevant laws and regulations, advising the company on their potential impact and ensuring compliance.

- Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance matters to internal stakeholders, promoting a culture of legal awareness.

- Manage and mentor junior members of the legal team, fostering their professional development.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, contract management, and aviation law.

- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.

- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory compliance.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Law degree from a recognized university.

- 15-25 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in corporate law, preferably with experience in the aviation industry.
