Background to the role The role is part of our Digital leadership team and reports to our CIO. This team is under new leadership with an exciting new mandate. Job Objective - Develop a team of IT professionals where continuous learning, curiosity, and work joy are visible. - Encourage team members continuously expand their knowledge horizon and stimulate a personal development cycle where individuals can grow within the organization bottoms-up and external hires become an exception. - Adopt a Service-First approach in our service operations, where we primarily focus on the management of our Airline Services rather than just infrastructure and applications. - Drive an efficient IT Infrastructure and Service Operations with full adoption of available tools, continuous automation, and maximum centralization, where support is provided with maximum efficiency. - Drive the full adoption of public clouds, with supporting technologies, and ensure applications are developed and deployed with maximum cloud readiness. - Ensure our service, applications, and infrastructure maintain a solid security posture, through the implementation of a robust zero-trust infrastructure supported by a proactive security operation centre. - Be a trusted discussion partner for our senior business stakeholders, with a solid Governance and Risk control framework where the security of our services remains an active discussion topic. Maintain a continuous dialog with education and awareness of security risks with our business stakeholders to ensure they prioritize security improvements. - Maintain proper technology roadmaps with continuous management of technical debt at acceptable levels. - Manage Local Area and Wide Area Networks with full proactivity and just-in-time capacity management with a proper balance between costs and performance. - Drive an efficient Tools strategy in the areas of Observability, Orchestration, Application Performance Management, IT Service Management, and IT Operations. The Tools should allow for maximum automation, easy self-reporting, and enable a drive towards a No-Ops structure. - Ensure Service Data is consumable by all Indigo teams in a self-service manner and there is minimal reliance on manually created reports. - Manage Service Levels and Budgets (both internal and vendors) with a rigorous focus on continuous improvement and cost reductions. - Drive maximum adoption of the Microsoft 365 platform both within Digital teams as well as our business stakeholders. Responsibilities - Manage Indigo IT Infrastructure Service Operations and ensure Indigo's services achieve maximum availability with minimal disruptions to our business with maximal efficiency. - Manage the end-user Service Desk through maximum end-user self-service and automation - Manage the Field support in our airports with maximum centralization to ensure our field presence is 'Lean-and-Mean'. - Drive our Indigo Cloud First strategy in close cooperation with our public cloud partners - Manage our Network Engineering team - Manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers that become the engine of continuous automation and proactively drive the maximum performance of our services. - Management of key Engineer functions like Cloud, Network and End User Computing. - Platform ownership of Orchestration, Observability, Application Management and ITSM tools - Manage the IT Security function in close alignment with the CIO. Qualifications - At least 10 years' experience running an international large-scale IT Operations and Infrastructure Teams - A true servant leader that fully dedicates his/her efforts to the success of the team, eradicates hierarchy and ensures all in the team are treated equally and fairly. - An active work experience in an agile organisation, with ideally a hands-on involvement in the transformation of a large IT team - A management style driven by an in-depth technical know-how of the various technologies, preferably with practical experience of Microsoft 365, Cloud Migrations (Azure, AWS or GCP), Application Performance Monitoring (Datadog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics or New Relix), Infrastructure Operations (like Splunk and Solarwinds) and IT Service management solutions like Service or BMC. - University level education or display of equivalent personal qualifications through experience - A proven track record leading a large IT Operations/Infrastructure team through a cloud migration, a significant automation project and/or a major efficiency initiative. - Aviation experience beneficial but not must
