Job Overview
The client a highly successful, privately-held global group with a history of performance excellence spanning over 70 years. With a strong London Headquarters and operations across key global hubs, we are looking for a Head of HR - India to professionalize and scale our India operations.
This is a build-and-scale role. You will not just be "running" HR; you will be building the engine. We need a leader who can transition the organization from ad-hoc management to structured, scalable processes, driving a culture of meritocracy and high performance.
Key Mandates
- Scale Up & Talent Acquisition: Lead aggressive hiring plans to support business growth. You will design and execute a robust talent acquisition strategy to attract top-tier talent in a competitive market.
- Process Creation & Frameworks: Move the organization away from informal ways of working. You will draft, implement, and institutionalize HR policies, SOPs, and frameworks that allow the business to scale without breaking.
- Building a Meritocracy: Design and implement rigorous Performance Management Systems (PMS). You will define clear KPIs, link performance to rewards, and ensure that career progression is strictly based on merit and data, not tenure.
- Organizational Design: As we grow, you will constantly evaluate the org structure to ensure it remains agile and efficient, preventing bottlenecks.
Core Responsibilities
- Act as the strategic partner to the India Leadership Team and the Global HR Director in London.
- Structure the onboarding process to ensure new hires are culturally aligned and productive from Day 1.
- Implement compensation and benefits benchmarking to ensure competitiveness while maintaining internal equity.
- Drive compliance rigor, ensuring all Indian labor laws and statutory requirements are met with zero deviation.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: 12-15 years of HR experience, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role.
- The "Builder" Mindset: Proven track record of setting up HR functions or scaling teams from X to Y. You must have experience creating processes from scratch.
- Meritocracy Champion: Experience in designing performance frameworks that reward high performers and manage underperformance decisively.
- Global Exposure: Experience reporting to a Global HQ (UK/US/Europe) is essential. You must understand how to balance global mandates with local operational realities.
- Education: MBA/PGDM in HR from a reputed institute.
