Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned US Law professional to join our Mumbai office as an In-House Legal Counsel. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary legal point of contact for our US-based operations, navigating complex regulatory landscapes and providing strategic counsel to senior leadership. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, and Product, to ensure our business objectives are achieved within a robust legal framework. Your work will directly influence the companys risk profile, safeguard our intellectual property, and facilitate seamless commercial growth by streamlining high-stakes contract negotiations and ensuring global compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of complex commercial contracts to protect company interests and accelerate deal closures.

- Advise internal stakeholders on US legal developments and regulatory requirements to ensure proactive compliance and risk mitigation.

- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, implementing efficient processes that reduce turnaround time and improve operational transparency.

- Oversee data privacy initiatives by ensuring organizational practices align with evolving US state and federal privacy laws.

- Lead legal due diligence for strategic initiatives, providing actionable insights that enable informed decision-making by the executive team.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying US contract law, with a proven track record of managing complex legal documentation in a corporate environment.

- Strong analytical capabilities to translate intricate legal concepts into practical business solutions for non-legal stakeholders.

- Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating legal risks and strategies clearly to senior management and external partners.

- Proven ability to manage data privacy compliance programs, including familiarity with frameworks such as CCPA, GDPR, or similar regulatory standards.

- A degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.) from a premier institution, combined with the ability to thrive in a high-growth, hybrid work environment in Mumbai.

- 5 - 12 years of professional experience in a law firm or a multinational corporate legal department.
