Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned In-House Legal Counsel to join our Mumbai-based team, focusing on the end-to-end legal lifecycle of our real estate portfolio. In this role, you will serve as the primary legal advisor for land acquisition, redevelopment projects, and complex property transactions, ensuring that our business objectives are met within the framework of evolving regulatory landscapes. You will collaborate closely with internal project management teams, external consultants, and government authorities to mitigate risks and secure project approvals. By providing strategic legal oversight, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company assets and ensuring seamless project execution from inception to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the entire land acquisition process, including title due diligence and negotiation of development agreements, to ensure clear and marketable title for all project sites.

- Oversee redevelopment projects by coordinating with housing societies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local laws and project timelines.

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide spectrum of legal documentation, including conveyance deeds, development agreements, and power of attorneys, to protect the company commercial interests.

- Ensure rigorous adherence to regulatory frameworks, including MahaRERA and MHADA guidelines, to maintain the company reputation and operational continuity.

- Provide proactive legal counsel on corporate law matters and regulatory compliance to support senior management in high-stakes decision-making processes.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrate deep expertise in drafting and vetting complex real estate documentation, coupled with a nuanced understanding of Maharashtra-specific land laws and redevelopment regulations.

- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities in conducting title searches and resolving property-related disputes, ensuring that all legal risks are identified and mitigated early.

- Possess the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders, fostering productive relationships with government officials and external legal counsel.

- Maintain a high degree of professional integrity and adaptability, thriving in the fast-paced, on-site environment of a Mumbai-based real estate firm.

- Hold a degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.) from a reputable institution, with a proven track record of managing large-scale real estate portfolios independently.
