Heads Up For Tails - Manager - Purchase Planning & Operations

- Manager Purchase Planning and Operations will be responsible for creating regional strategic procurement SOPs across product categories and having them executed on a day to day basis Also, he/she will take part in implementation of the purchase calendar across warehouses based on the periodic demand forecast plan received from the planning team.

- Timely sourcing, vendor relationship management and vendor contract management will be the core responsibilities of Purchase Manager.

- He/She will report into the Head of Supply Chain with strategic oversight from the COO.

Key Responsibilities/What You Will Do:

- Develop, Lead and Execute purchase strategies across regions and categories.

- Track and report key functional metrics (ExOTIF) to improve process effectiveness and improve vendor relationships.

- Craft vendor negotiation strategies and close vendor deals with optimal terms of trade.

- Partnering with all the vendors and stakeholders to ensure transparent contract management.

- Perform various cost analysis with respect to inventory planning and management, What If analysis and benchmarking in purchase function.

- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries based on periodic demand forecasts and monitor levels of demand basis available inventory space across warehouses.

- Assess, manage and mitigate risks of physical inventory damage.

Qualifications & Skills/What You Need:

- Proven experience as purchase manager across different businesses (including retail & e-com).

- Exceptional networking & negotiation skills along with interest in changing market dynamics.

- Working experience of vendor management software.

- Strong ability to gather and analyse data and to work with numbers.

Preferably working:

- Ability to lead, make sound judgements and take timely decisions of own function.

- Strong mathematical and statistical skills set.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to work across cultures & a pro-active thinker.

- Bachelor's degree / professional certification in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics or Business.

Administration:

- Hands on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system 6-8 years of related experience with at-least 2+ years as Managing Purchase Operations.
