Position: Head HR (Talent Acquisition, People & Culture)

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Department: Human Resources

Reporting To: Founder / CEO

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head HR (Talent Acquisition, People & Culture) to lead and scale the people function for our rapidly growing quick commerce business based in Mumbai. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for building a high-performing organization by driving talent acquisition, people strategy, employee engagement, organizational development, performance management, HR operations, learning & development, employer branding, and culture. As a key member of the leadership team, you will partner closely with business leaders to attract top talent, foster a performance-driven culture, and build HR practices that support rapid business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

- Develop and execute hiring strategies for corporate, technology, operations, dark stores, warehouses, supply chain, and leadership positions.

- Build strong talent pipelines through direct sourcing, referrals, agencies, campus hiring, and networking.

- Lead the complete recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.

- Improve hiring quality, reduce time-to-hire, and optimize recruitment costs.

- Strengthen employer branding and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.

People & Culture:

- Create and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, collaboration, and retention.

- Build a high-performance, values-driven organizational culture.

- Design employee recognition, rewards, and wellness programs.

- Conduct engagement surveys and implement improvement plans.

- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

HR Strategy & Business Partnering:

- Align HR strategy with business objectives and expansion plans.

- Partner with department heads on workforce planning and organizational design.

- Develop succession planning and leadership development initiatives.

- Support organizational transformation and change management.

Performance Management:

- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, KRAs, KPIs, OKRs, and annual performance reviews.

- Coach managers on performance conversations and talent development.

- Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Learning & Development:

- Identify capability gaps and create learning programs.

- Design structured onboarding and induction programs.

- Develop leadership, managerial, technical, and behavioral training initiatives.

Employee Relations:

- Manage employee grievances and disciplinary matters professionally.

- Build a positive workplace environment through transparent communication.

- Advise leaders on employee relations and conflict resolution.

HR Operations & Compliance:

- Oversee onboarding, confirmations, transfers, and exit processes.

- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and statutory regulations.

- Manage HRMS, attendance, leave, and employee records.

- Develop and update HR policies and standard operating procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Support compensation benchmarking and annual salary reviews.

- Design incentive and reward frameworks aligned with business objectives.

- Ensure competitive compensation practices.

HR Analytics:

- Monitor and report HR metrics, including hiring, attrition, engagement, productivity, diversity, and workforce planning.

- Present actionable insights to the leadership team.

Qualifications:

- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.

- 8 - 15 years of HR experience, with significant exposure to talent acquisition and people management.

- Experience in Quick Commerce, E-commerce, Retail, Logistics, FMCG, Consumer Tech, or high-growth startups is highly preferred.

- Proven experience in scaling teams across multiple business functions.

- Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and HR best practices.

- Experience with HRMS and recruitment technologies.
