Job Title : Head - Quality Assurance

Experience Required : 9-12 years

Location : Somsara Plant, Hooghly, WB

Qualification: Post Graduate in Plastic Engineering / CIPET

Industry Preference: PET Preform Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities (KRA):

- Lead and oversee all Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

- Manage laboratory testing, including visual, physical, and functional inspections of materials and finished products.

- Analyze drawings, prepare specifications, and define quality benchmarks for products and input materials.

- Ensure documentation, process adherence, and quality activities as per SOPs and ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015, FSSC 22000, etc.).

- Conduct in-house audits of finished goods as per approved sampling plans.

- Drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System with a focus on business excellence.

- Play a key role in new mould development, trials, validation, and product approvals.

- Ensure calibration and maintenance of all testing instruments.

- Monitor and validate activities in clean rooms, including environment parameters and compliance protocols.

- Handle customer requirements, manage complaints, and ensure timely RCA, CAPA, and MOM reporting.

- Prepare and present audit reports, ensuring readiness for ISO, FSSC, and other external audits.

- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis to optimize process quality and minimize defects.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product development and system improvements.

- Lead and mentor the QA/QC team to build a culture of quality excellence.

Core Skills & Requirements:

- Strong expertise in QA/QC processes, ISO standards, and food safety compliance.

- Hands-on knowledge of PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, and HIPS materials.

- Experience in PET bottles, preforms, jars, HDPE/PP/HIPS containers, and PP caps.

- Proven ability to manage audits, certifications, and customer quality requirements.

- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SPC and root cause analysis tools.

- Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Ability to manage high-pressure situations, ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction.
