About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and results-driven Head of Production to lead our end-to end manufacturing operations. This pivotal leadership role demands exceptional expertise in production planning, raw material management, operational efficiency, and cross-functional team leadership. The ideal candidate will drive excellence in execution, foster innovation, and scale operations in alignment with our growth ambitions and uncompromising quality standards.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Production Planning & Execution


- Design and implement robust, forward-looking production strategies in close alignment with merchandising, sales, and supply chain teams.

- Translate business objectives into actionable production schedules, ensuring agility, efficiency, and on-time delivery of finished goods.


- Develop capacity planning models to scale production across multiple product categories and peak periods.


Raw Material & Inventory Optimization


- Lead procurement strategy for raw materials, ensuring consistent quality, timely delivery, and cost optimization.

- Implement predictive inventory systems to prevent stockouts or overages, while improving working capital efficiency.

- Build strong, performance-based relationships with domestic and international suppliers for long-term value creation.


Process Excellence & Operational Innovation


- Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive operational excellence.

- Standardize production processes across units while ensuring adaptability to product-specific requirements.

- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control, safety, and compliance protocols in accordance with industry and regulatory benchmarks.


Leadership & Cross-functional Team Development


- Inspire, mentor, and lead a high-performance production team; build a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

- Set clear performance expectations, conduct structured reviews, and design career progression pathways for team growth.

- Partner with HR and Learning teams to institutionalize skill-building programs and succession planning.


Stakeholder Communication & Reporting


- Act as the central point of coordination between merchandising, design, quality, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless production workflows.

- Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to senior leadership, including throughput metrics, cost variances, and productivity KPIs.

- Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and maintain transparency across all levels of the organization.


Advanced Production Planning & Control (PPC)


- Leverage advanced PPC methodologies and digital tools to drive production accuracy, improve forecasting, and minimize waste.

- Analyze production trends and historical data to inform decision-making and optimize plant capacity utilization.

- Maintain meticulous documentation and compliance records to support audits, certifications, and strategic planning.


Key Skills & Competencies


- Proven leadership experience in production or manufacturing operations at a senior level

(preferably in apparel, FMCG, or consumer durables).

- Expertise in Production Planning & Control (PPC), lean manufacturing, and modern ERP/MES platforms.

- Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.

- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and vendor management skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and quality-obsessed environment.


Qualifications


- Bachelor's/Masters degree in Production Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or related discipline.

- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in production, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, or Supply Chain Management will be a strong advantage.
