Role Overview:

The Global Head - Product Control role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial control and reporting functions for specific trading businesses globally. This role involves close collaboration with front office trading desks, technology, operations, and other control functions to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Global Head will lead a team of product controllers and will be instrumental in driving process improvements and enhancing the control environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily and monthly P&L production, balance sheet substantiation, and regulatory reporting for assigned trading businesses globally.

- Provide strategic direction and leadership to a global team of product controllers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

- Partner with front office trading desks to understand trading strategies, new products, and market developments, ensuring appropriate accounting and control frameworks are in place.

- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance systems and processes, improving efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

- Manage relationships with internal and external auditors, providing support for audits and regulatory examinations.

- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce operational risk.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify trends and potential issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, global teams in a complex financial environment.

- Proven expertise in product control, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance within the financial services industry.

- Deep understanding of trading strategies, financial instruments, and market dynamics.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and stakeholders.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

- Experience in driving process improvements and automation initiatives.

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent professional certification is preferred.

- Minimum of 18-20 years of relevant experience in product control or a related field.
