Department: Green Energy Division Procurement & Supply Chain

Reporting to: CEO

Position Overview:



We are looking for an accomplished Head Procurement to lead the procurement division and manage the supply chain operations across Solar, Wind, and BESS projects.

This role includes establishing and managing international procurement business units in China and Singapore to secure global supply chain reliability, ascertain quality, optimize costs, and strengthen vendor partnerships.

The position demands high degree of expertise in renewable energy EPC procurement, global sourcing, and contract negotiations, along with a proven track record of handling high-value international supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement & Global Sourcing:

- Establish dedicated procurement business units in China and Singapore, driving international vendor engagement and supply chain integration, quality checking.

- Develop and implement global procurement strategy covering solar modules, wind turbines, BESS systems, inverters, transformers, and balance of plant.

- Drive cost optimization through competitive sourcing, supplier diversification, and long-term global framework agreements.

- Build backward integration strategies and assess in-house manufacturing opportunities.

Contracting & Negotiation:

- Lead drafting and negotiation of supply contracts, MoUs, and framework agreements with international vendors.

- Ensure incorporation of robust commercial, technical, and legal safeguards in procurement contracts.

- Collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams to finalize contracts aligned with business risk and delivery requirements.

Vendor & Supply Chain Management:

- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships in India, China, and Southeast Asia.

- Manage supplier audits, performance tracking, and risk assessments.

- Ensure timely deliveries for large-scale projects through proactive logistics and warehousing strategies.

- Monitor commodity pricing, forex exposure, customs duties, and geopolitical risks impacting procurement.

Project Procurement Execution:

- Align procurement schedules with project execution milestones.

- Ensure seamless coordination between engineering, project execution, and international sourcing units.

- Track cost-to-completion and procurement budgets across projects.

- Ensure QC for all procurement in line with applicable standards.

Risk Assessment & Compliance:

- Identify and mitigate risks in cross-border sourcing, logistics, and contract enforcement.

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, trade laws, ESG procurement standards, and customs requirements.

- Proactively manage disruptions by maintaining multiple sourcing alternatives.

- Ensure timely availability of spares and consumables, crucial components.

Policies, SOPs & Standardization:

- Develop and implement Procurement SOPs, Policies, and Approval Matrix to streamline procurement governance.

- Standardize Purchase Orders, vendor contracts, and documentation formats across business units.

- Drive digitization and ERP integration of procurement workflows for transparency and efficiency.

- Ensure adherence to internal control systems and audit readiness.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Build and lead a global procurement team spanning India, China, and Singapore.

- Provide strategic procurement insights to senior management for long-term planning.

- Liaise with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and financing partners to ensure procurement strategy supports project success.

Global Travel & Representation:

- Willingness to frequently travel to China and Singapore to establish and manage local procurement business units.

- Represent the company in vendor negotiations, contract finalizations, and strategic sourcing discussions.

- Build long-term relationships with global OEMs, suppliers, and financial stakeholders.

- Act as the face of procurement for international partners, ensuring credibility and trust in global markets.

Ethics & Governance Commitment:

- Uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and corporate governance in all project dealings.

- Ensure strict alignment with compliance framework and zero tolerance for conflicts of interest, adhering to policies such as Supply, Anti-Bribery, and ESG.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: B.Tech (Electrical/Mechanical/Energy) with MBA (Operations/Supply Chain).

- LLB will be an added advantage.

- Experience: 20-25 years of procurement and supply chain experience in renewable energy or EPC, with exposure to international procurement hubs (China/Singapore).

- Experience in leading and managing procurement teams of at least 15+ members.

- Proven track record of handling large-scale procurement (>1 GW RE projects).

- Strong knowledge of global supply markets, customs/import laws, forex management, and international contracting.
