Role Overview:

The individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, statutory compliance, governance, audit coordination and maintenance of all statutory registers. The role requires strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory obligations procedures to ensure 100% compliance and accuracy in payroll and related areas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Management

2. Statutory Compliance & Governance

- Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements under:

a. PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, etc.

b. Income Tax (TDS) and other applicable laws.

- Keep updated with labour laws, taxation changes and government notifications.

- Develop, implement and monitor internal governance and compliance policies.

3. Liaisoning & Helpdesk:

- Act as a liaison between the company and government/statutory authorities such as EPFO, ESIC, Labour Department, etc.

- Handle inspections, audits, and ensure timely submission of required documents.

- Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and vendors for compliance matters.

4. Audit & Records Management:

- Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to payroll and statutory compliance.

- Maintain and update all statutory registers and records as per applicable acts (Factory Act, Shops & Establishment Act, etc.).

- Maintain digital and physical documentation for easy retrieval during audits or inspections.

5. Process Improvement & Reporting

- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and compliance efficiency.

- Prepare MIS reports on payroll, audit, compliance status and governance metrics for management review.

- Drive automation and digitization initiatives in payroll and compliance management

Skills & Competencies:

- In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, payroll systems and statutory compliance.

- Proficiency in payroll software (SAP, Tally, GreytHR). Excellent in MS Excel.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
