Role Objective:

We are looking for a seasoned manufacturing leader to oversee and optimize operations across multiple production units. The incumbent will be responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, productivity, and profitability in alignment with the organizations strategic growth plans. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration, technology adoption, and people leadership to ensure sustainable performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Multi-Unit Leadership: Direct and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple manufacturing sites to ensure efficiency, output, and profitability.

- Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in process improvement, quality, and cost optimization using lean and digital methodologies.

- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, sales, and finance teams to deliver on business goals.

- Standardization & Systems: Drive the standardization of production systems and ensure scalability and reliability across plants.

- Performance Management: Define and track key metrics (yield, breakdowns, OEE, OTIF) and lead structured reviews for performance improvement.

- Leadership & Culture: Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams that foster safety, accountability, and innovation.

- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory standards, including ESG initiatives.

- Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets, working capital, sourcing efficiency, and plant-level P&L.

- Capital Projects: Plan and execute automation, modernization, and capacity expansion initiatives.

- Digital Transformation: Drive Industry 4.0/5.0 initiatives for real-time visibility, predictive maintenance, and smart manufacturing.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry forums, and external stakeholders to represent the organizations interests.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Production). A management qualification or certifications such as PMP, TQM, or Lean Six Sigma will be advantageous.

- 25+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years leading multiple plants or business units.

- Proven experience managing large-scale steel fabrication, casting, and galvanization facilities (50,000 tonnes/month).

- Strong exposure to capital goods, heavy engineering, or steel-based industries.

- Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency, digital adoption, cost control, and process modernization.

- Experience in family-managed or entrepreneurial business environments preferred.
