Role Overview

The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the organization's end-to-end operations, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and scalable processes. The role involves close collaboration with the COO and senior leadership across Investment, Risk, Compliance, and Finance functions to support sustainable business growth while maintaining robust operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership

- Lead and manage all operational functions including fund operations, finance, compliance support, middle and back office, and vendor management.

- Ensure seamless execution of day-to-day operations across all asset management activities.

- Design, implement, and continuously enhance operational processes to support scalability and business growth.

2. Governance & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure adherence to SEBI, AMFI, and other applicable regulatory requirements for asset management businesses.

- Work closely with Compliance and Risk teams to strengthen internal controls, audit processes, and reporting frameworks.

- Oversee regulatory filings, inspections, and interactions with regulators, auditors, custodians, trustees, and other authorities.

3. Financial Oversight & MIS

- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, cost controls, and MIS reporting.

- Monitor profitability, expense management, and key operational risk metrics.

- Provide oversight on fund accounting, NAV processes, reconciliations, and timely closure of audit observations.

4. Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate and manage relationships with fund accountants, custodians, RTAs, banks, auditors, and other service providers.

- Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.

5. Process Improvement & Technology Enablement

- Drive automation and adoption of technology to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and control.

- Review, update, and strengthen SOPs, policies, and internal workflows.

- Support implementation and operational setup of new products, funds, and structures (MF, PMS, AIF, etc.).

6. Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead, mentor, and build high-performing operations and finance teams.

- Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10-15 years of experience, preferably in Asset Management, Mutual Funds, PMS, AIF, or related financial services.

- Strong understanding of asset management operations, regulatory frameworks, and fund structures.

- Proven experience in managing audits, regulatory inspections, and operational risk.
