The Head Medical Services is responsible for leading clinical governance, medical operations, consultant engagement, quality compliance, and patient safety across the hospital. The role ensures alignment of medical excellence with operational efficiency and supports the hospitals strategic growth agenda.


Preferred candidate profile:


1. Clinical Governance & Medical Operations


- Lead overall medical administration and clinical governance across departments.


- Ensure implementation of standardized treatment protocols and clinical pathways.


- Monitor clinical outcomes, mortality/morbidity indicators, and patient safety metrics.


- Strengthen multidisciplinary coordination across specialties.


- Drive continuous clinical quality improvement initiatives.


2. Consultant Engagement & Medical Workforce Management


- Lead consultant onboarding, credentialing, privileging, and performance review.


- Maintain strong engagement with full-time and visiting consultants.


- Support medical manpower planning aligned with service-line growth.


- Resolve clinical coordination issues between departments.


3. Quality, Accreditation & Compliance


- Ensure compliance with NABH and statutory regulatory requirements.


- Drive hospital-wide patient safety frameworks.


- Strengthen audit systems (clinical audits, documentation audits, infection control).


- Support accreditation readiness and surveillance cycles.


4. Patient Safety & Clinical Risk Management


- Implement patient safety programs across hospital units.


- Monitor sentinel events and clinical incident reporting systems.


- Strengthen infection control compliance and antimicrobial stewardship.


- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action mechanisms.


5. Strategic Planning & Service Line Development


- Support leadership in expanding specialty services.


- Identify gaps in clinical capability and recommend recruitment strategies.


- Participate in hospital capacity utilization optimization initiatives.


- Contribute to new program launches and clinical center-of-excellence initiatives.


6. Regulatory & Legal Coordination


- Ensure medico-legal compliance across departments.


- Support response mechanisms for medico-legal cases.


- Maintain statutory licensing readiness and documentation compliance.


- Coordinate with legal and quality teams on risk mitigation.


7. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaboration


- Work closely with Operations, Nursing, Quality, HR, and Finance teams.


- Support alignment between clinical excellence and business performance.


- Participate in hospital leadership forums and strategy reviews.
