Head - Logistics & Dispatch

Role Overview:

Head - Logistics & Dispatch to lead end-to-end logistics, warehousing, dispatch, and transportation operations for a manufacturing plant. The role is responsible for ensuring timely product dispatch, efficient inventory management, transportation planning, cost optimization, and compliance with safety and statutory requirements while delivering high customer service levels.

Responsibilities:

- Lead dispatch, warehouse, transportation, and logistics operations.

- Plan and execute daily dispatches in line with production and sales requirements.

- Manage finished goods warehouses, inventory accuracy, and stock reconciliation through SAP/ERP.

- Optimize transportation, freight costs, vehicle utilization, and dispatch scheduling.

- Oversee loading operations, weighbridge activities, dispatch documentation, and logistics coordination.

- Coordinate with Production, Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain for uninterrupted material movement.

- Ensure compliance with EHS standards, statutory regulations, and transportation guidelines.

- Monitor logistics KPIs including OTIF, vehicle turnaround time, inventory accuracy, freight cost, and warehouse productivity.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce logistics costs and improve operational efficiency.

- Lead and develop warehouse, logistics, dispatch, and contract manpower teams.

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial) or MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations.

- 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Experience in Fertilizer, Chemicals, Cement, Mining, Bulk Materials, or Process Industries will be preferred.

- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation management, inventory control, SAP/ERP, freight optimization, and statutory compliance.
