Role Overview:

The Head of Legal role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the organization, ensuring compliance, and mitigating legal risks. This role involves providing strategic legal advice to senior management, managing litigation, and negotiating complex contracts.

The Head of Legal will work closely with various internal teams, external legal counsel, and regulatory bodies, directly impacting the company's ability to operate effectively and achieve its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement the company's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives.

- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual matters.

- Manage all litigation and dispute resolution processes, working with external counsel as needed, to protect the company's interests.

- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and minimize risk.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental, health, and safety regulations, to maintain the company's reputation and avoid penalties.

- Oversee intellectual property protection, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights, to safeguard the company's innovations.

- Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

- Conduct legal training for employees on relevant topics to promote awareness and compliance.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, contract law, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.

- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior management and influence decision-making.

- Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and mentoring legal professionals.

- Ability to analyze complex legal issues, assess risks, and develop effective solutions.

- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) and a Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.

- 15-30 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the infrastructure, energy, or real estate sectors.

- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai.
