We are looking at candidates from the Legal industry. The Head of Legal will act as an in-house policy consultant, thought partner, and all-around advisor. The incumbent is required to partner with internal and external stakeholders on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, Intellectual Property, commercial transactions, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, recovery, legal collections, policy and social impact. Roles & Responsibilities: - Set the vision and strategy for the Legal function working with senior leaders across the organization - Vet all legal aspects for new partnerships, product diversification, expansion into new products and business lines, M&A, tie-ups, strategic investments and various initiatives to enable safe growth for Organization - Support the Treasury and Finance team in all fund-raising activities including raising NCDs, ECBs, IPO, QIP etc. - Advise on enforceability of Loan and Security documents- Brief and engage Senior counsels to represent on behalf of the organization. - Independently draft, review, advise and negotiate a wide range of legal and contractual terms of contracts along with interpretation of contractual clauses with partners, trade-vendors, customers etc. - Regulatory Liaising- Liaise and manage relationship with RBI, SEBI and other authorities for legal, statutory and other regulatory compliances. - Responsible for all regulatory recovery and legal compliance related matters. - Legal Representation- Represent the organization at appropriate forums. - Legal Opinion: Share opinions on key laws and statutory requirements for business and drafting of white papers. Provide assistance and inputs on various legal matters, as and when raised by various departments to ensure protection of the organization's interest. - Reporting: Routine report submissions to the RBI and submission of data on request of the RBI as per licensing norms and applicable provisions. - Regulatory Change Management: Evaluation and assessment of impact of the changing legal and regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with changing mandates to ensure compliance in operational and business practices - Responsible for advising on all legal and recovery related matters. Deal with all legal notices, agreements, and contribute towards ensuring efficient recovery of cases in default by initiating legal action - Draft and execute renewal of agreements, MOU, lease agreements and other contracts from time to time - Draft key legal communications in response to notices, queries and statutory communications. Qualification: - LLB or Post Graduate degree in Law from an accredited law school with at least 15 years of working experience in the legal environment.
