Role Overview:

- We are seeking an experienced legal leader to head the Legal & Compliance function of a well-established organization.

- This role requires a commercially astute professional capable of independently driving the companys legal strategy, strengthening compliance frameworks, and acting as a trusted advisor to business leadership.

- The successful candidate will combine technical legal depth with strong business judgment and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Contracting & Commercial Advisory:

- Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide spectrum of domestic and international commercial agreements.

- Demonstrate strong command over cross-border and international contracting frameworks.

- Structure commercially sound agreements across distribution, vendor, consultancy, confidentiality, sale/purchase, and strategic partnership arrangements.

- Ensure risk-balanced contracts that protect the organization while enabling revenue growth.

- Drive timely turnaround of agreements to support business objectives.

- Maintain contract trackers, MIS reporting, and renewal monitoring systems.

Legal Strategy & Risk Management:

- Provide strategic legal advice across business verticals.

- Anticipate legal risks and recommend mitigation measures aligned with business objectives.

- Conduct legal research and interpret relevant case laws to strengthen contractual and advisory positions.

Transactions:

- Support strategic business transactions including joint ventures, investments, restructuring initiatives, and high-value commercial arrangements.

- Lead legal due diligence, documentation, negotiation, and risk assessment for transactional matters.

- Partner with finance and business leadership to structure legally sound and commercially viable deals.

Intellectual Property:

- Provide advisory on intellectual property protection, enforcement, and infringement matters.

Candidate Profile:

- Law degree from a recognized institution.

- 10+ years of progressive experience leading legal and compliance functions within a structured corporate environment (industry exposure preferred).

- Strong expertise in corporate law, contract management, regulatory compliance, litigation oversight, and IPR matters.

- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align legal strategy with business priorities.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication capabilities.
