Role Overview:

As the Legal Head for Kellogg in India, you will lead all legal and compliance matters, safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. This pivotal role involves providing strategic legal counsel to senior leadership, managing legal risks, and fostering a culture of ethical conduct within a dynamic and evolving regulatory landscape. You will play a crucial part in supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and various departments on a wide range of legal issues, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, employment law, and litigation.

- Oversee and manage all legal risks across the organization, developing and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.

- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, ensuring they align with company policies and legal requirements.

- Ensure the company's full compliance with all relevant local, national, and international laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

- Manage and supervise all litigation, disputes, and regulatory inquiries, coordinating with external counsel as needed.

- Develop and deliver training programs on legal and compliance topics to employees, fostering a strong culture of ethical behavior and legal awareness.

- Stay abreast of changes in legislation and regulatory environments, proactively assessing their impact on the business and advising on necessary adjustments.

- Collaborate closely with global legal teams to ensure alignment with corporate legal strategies and best practices.

- Lead and mentor a high-performing legal team, fostering their professional development and ensuring efficient workflow.

- Advise on corporate governance matters and assist in maintaining statutory records and filings.

Required Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized institution.

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, with significant experience in a leadership role, preferably within the FMCG sector or a large multinational corporation.

- Expertise: Proven expertise in Indian corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal principles applicable to marketing, advertising, food safety, and consumer protection.

- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Communication: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Work Ethic: Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master of Laws (LL.M.) or Company Secretary qualification.

- Experience with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions.

- Previous experience in leading and developing a legal team.

- Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring activities.
