Job title : Legal Head
Location: Hyderabad
Years of experience: Min 25 years to Max 30 years.
Job Purpose:
To lead, manage, and oversee all legal, regulatory, and compliance affairs of the construction company, ensuring protection of organizational interests across contracts, projects, land acquisition, litigation, joint ventures, and statutory compliances. The Legal Head acts as a strategic advisor to the management on all legal and risk-related matters, driving governance, transparency, and compliance throughout the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Leadership:
- Develop and implement the company's legal strategy aligned with business goals.
- Advise management and the Board on key legal risks and mitigation measures.
- Ensure all business operations comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Contracts & Documentation:
- Draft, review, and negotiate all commercial, vendor, EPC, and subcontract agreements.
- Evaluate risk exposure in contracts and ensure standard legal clauses are incorporated.
- Maintain a centralized contract management system and approval matrix.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and monitor all litigations, arbitrations, and disputes with contractors, vendors, and government agencies.
- Coordinate with external counsels and legal firms to ensure effective representation.
- Review case status reports and develop early dispute resolution strategies.
Land & Real Estate Legal Management:
- Vet land titles, conduct due diligence, and manage documentation for land acquisition or lease.
- Handle registrations, mutation, encumbrance, and other property-related legalities.
- Liaise with state revenue departments, RERA, and urban development authorities.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure 100% compliance with RERA, Companies Act, Labour Laws, Contract Labour, EHS, and other applicable statutes.
- Develop internal legal policies, SOPs, and training modules for departments.
- Conduct periodic audits and provide compliance dashboards to management.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and mentor internal legal team members and coordinate with external consultants.
- Provide legal training to project, procurement, and HR teams.
- Foster a culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability.
Education: LL.B (Law) with LL.M specialization.
Note: Mainly the experience of the candidate should be from Infrastructure.
