Role: Head of Legal.
Reporting To: Managing Director & Board of Directors.
Location: Gurgaon or Manesar with regular travel to manufacturing facilities in Manesar and Bhiwadi.
Company: Tier-1 Public Limited Automotive Component Manufacturing Company.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Function Leadership & Advisory:
- Provide strategic legal advice to the MD, Board, and Senior Management on all business matters, including contracts, commercial transactions, manufacturing operations, IP protection, and regulatory issues.
- Lead and manage litigation strategy (civil, criminal, arbitration, labour, and regulatory) across various forums, including all legal or pre-legal matters with customers and suppliers, to protect the company's interests.
- Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts, vendor agreements, customer contracts, technology licensing agreements, and international trade-related documents.
Contract Management & Commercial Support:
- Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle for major commercial, vendor, customer, and technology agreements.
- Ensure contracts adequately protect the company's commercial interests, IP, and risk exposure.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Develop and execute litigation strategy across civil, criminal, arbitration, labour, and regulatory forums.
Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- Total experience of 10 - 15 years in Legal functions, with significant exposure to commercial law, contracts, and litigation.
- Minimum 3+ years in a leadership role (Head of Legal / Legal Counsel / similar) in a listed company or large organization (preferably in manufacturing / automotive / engineering sector).
- Prior experience in a Tier-1 or large manufacturing organization is highly preferred.
- Strong track record in managing complex commercial contracts, IP matters, and multi-forum litigation.
Education:
- LLB / BL degree from a recognized university (additional LLM or specialized certification in Corporate / Commercial Law will be an advantage).
