About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Legal & Compliance to build and lead our legal function in a dynamic FinTech environment.

This pivotal role will oversee all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, ensuring the company's operations align with the rapidly evolving Indian financial landscape.

You will be a key member of the leadership team, providing strategic guidance on new products, business expansions, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Legal Strategy & Risk Management: Formulate and execute the overall legal strategy to mitigate operational and regulatory risks.

- Provide proactive legal advice to the Board and senior management on all strategic initiatives.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure stringent compliance with all financial regulations (RBI, SEBI, PMLA, etc.) relevant to the company's products (e.g., lending, payments, investments).

- Manage regulatory inspections and reporting.

- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of all commercial contracts, partnerships, vendor agreements, and client agreements, with a focus on mitigating legal exposure.

- Corporate Governance: Manage corporate secretarial functions, including board meetings, statutory filings, and maintenance of legal records.

- Dispute Resolution: Manage all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel as needed.

- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead the in-house legal and compliance team, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical practice.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Education: LLB/LLM from a top-tier university.

- A Company Secretary (CS) qualification or an MBA would be a strong advantage.

- Experience: 10+ years of post-qualification experience, with significant exposure to the FinTech, Banking, or NBFC sector.

- Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a legal or compliance function.

- Skills: Deep understanding of Indian financial and corporate law.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
