Role Overview:
The Head of Learning and Development will lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive learning and development strategies and programs across the hospital group. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to identify training needs, develop effective learning solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. The Head of L&D plays a crucial role in enhancing employee skills, improving patient care, and driving organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the hospital group's strategic objectives, ensuring that learning initiatives support organizational goals and enhance employee capabilities.
- Conduct thorough training needs analyses across various departments and roles, identifying skill gaps and development opportunities to inform the design of targeted learning programs.
- Design, develop, and deliver a wide range of learning solutions, including leadership development programs, clinical training, soft skills workshops, and e-learning modules, catering to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through data analysis, feedback collection, and performance metrics, continuously improving content and delivery methods to maximize impact.
- Manage the L&D budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring cost-effective delivery of high-quality learning solutions.
- Partner with external vendors and consultants to source specialized training programs and resources, ensuring that external partnerships align with the hospital group's learning objectives and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of L&D professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in learning and development, incorporating innovative approaches and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with HR business partners to integrate learning and development initiatives with other HR functions, such as performance management, talent management, and succession planning, ensuring a holistic approach to employee development.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional growth across the hospital group, promoting employee engagement and fostering a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Proven expertise in conducting training needs analyses, developing learning solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and e-learning technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of L&D professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in HR Generalist functions, particularly in performance management and talent development, is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, with experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
