
HEAD OF HR
About The Company:
An established Indian consumer-products business with a growing presence in the grooming, personal-care and allied consumer categories is hiring for a Head H.R. The organization has manufacturing facilities with All-India Sales and Distribution network which is being rolled out.
Position & Hiring Parameters:
- Location: South Mumbai; enterprise-wide remit with travel - interaction across factories and business units
- Industry: FMCG, consumer products, personal care, manufacturing, engineering or diversified promoter-led groups
Role Mandate & Seniority:
- Head of Human Resources level, with potential to grow into Group CHRO - Chief People Officer.
- Own people strategy and HR execution across factories, technology - engineering, corporate functions, sales, marketing and distribution.
- Build the HR team, leadership culture, accountability architecture, performance standards, recruitment engine, manager capability and people processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Must be sufficiently senior and courageous to challenge senior management while retaining high emotional intelligence and commercial judgement.
Education Level & Qualifications:
- Preferred: MBA - PGDM in Human Resources - Personnel Management - Industrial Relations from a credible institution.
- Acceptable: Bachelor's degree with strong senior HR leadership experience; additional HR - IR qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong labour-law - industrial-relations capability is important because the remit spans factories and geographically distributed operations.
- Professional credibility in compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, L&D and HR operations is more important than academic pedigree alone.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Hands-on HR leadership across manufacturing - factory and corporate environments.
- Talent acquisition, senior leadership hiring, onboarding, background checks and due diligence.
- Performance management, accountability systems, appraisal architecture, compensation and incentive design.
- Manager development, succession planning, leadership development and employee capability building.
- Industrial relations, labour-law compliance, employee relations and difficult-conversation capability.
- HR operations, process design, HRIS - digitalisation and practical people analytics.
- Culture building across geographically and functionally diverse workforces; high discretion and stakeholder management.
- Commercial orientation: ability to link people decisions to productivity, cost, execution quality and business performance.
- Candidates who have an experience in FMCG - Consumer durables are preferred.
