Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Head - Human Resources to independently lead the end-to-end HR function for a growing logistics organisation. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies aligned with business objectives while managing the complete employee lifecycle across corporate and frontline/operational workforce.

The role requires strong expertise in HR operations, employee relations, statutory compliance, talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, and HR analytics, with a strong understanding of the logistics and operational workforce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Strategy & Operations:

- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, processes, and frameworks aligned with business objectives.

- Lead the complete employee lifecycle from manpower planning and recruitment to onboarding, performance management, career development, transfers, promotions, and separation.

- Establish effective HR systems and processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.

- Partner with senior management on organisation structure, workforce planning, and people-related decisions.

- Drive effective talent management and succession planning practices.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

- Act as the key HR point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues.

- Manage employee relations across corporate offices, warehouses, hubs, transport operations, and frontline locations.

- Ensure timely resolution of employee grievances and maintain a positive and transparent work environment.

- Drive employee engagement, communication, retention, and employee experience initiatives.

- Develop initiatives to improve employee morale, productivity, and organisational culture.

Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws:

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements across locations.

- Oversee compliance related to PF, ESIC, gratuity, bonus, wages, labour welfare, contract labour, and other applicable regulations.

- Coordinate with legal consultants, compliance partners, and statutory authorities wherever required.

- Conduct periodic compliance reviews/audits and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.

- Establish robust processes for maintaining statutory records and documentation.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

- Lead recruitment across corporate, operational, warehouse, transportation, and frontline requirements.

- Develop manpower plans based on business growth, operational requirements, and productivity targets.

- Strengthen recruitment channels for blue-collar, frontline, warehouse, and logistics talent.

- Ensure timely closure of critical positions while maintaining quality of hiring.

- Partner with business leaders to understand workforce requirements and hiring priorities.

Performance & Talent Management:

- Drive performance management, goal setting, appraisal, and review processes across the organisation.

- Establish performance-oriented people practices aligned with business objectives.

- Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning for critical roles.

- Drive learning and development initiatives based on organisational and capability requirements.

- Support leadership development and internal career progression.

HR MIS & Analytics:

- Develop and maintain HR dashboards and MIS for management review.

- Track and analyse key HR metrics including headcount, attrition, absenteeism, hiring, manpower cost, productivity, and employee movement.

- Provide data-driven HR insights and recommendations to senior management.

- Identify trends and improvement areas through HR analytics.

Candidate Profile:

- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institution.

- 15+ years of relevant HR experience, with significant experience in a leadership role.

- Candidates must have relevant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Warehousing, 3PL, Distribution, or allied operational industries.

- Strong understanding of managing corporate as well as frontline/blue-collar workforce.

- Proven experience in independently managing end-to-end HR functions.

- Strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, employee relations, and HR operations.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

- Ability to work closely with senior management and translate business requirements into effective people strategies.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally driven business environment.

Ideal Candidate:

- The ideal candidate will be a senior HR leader from the logistics/supply chain/transportation/warehousing ecosystem who can independently manage the complete HR function, build scalable people processes, manage corporate and frontline workforce requirements, ensure strong statutory compliance, and drive employee engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness.
