Head - Human Resource - Shipping Industry - IIM/XLRI/SCMHRD/TISS

A leading global shipping / maritime organization is hiring a Head of HR - India to establish and scale its India people function.

This is a high-impact leadership role partnering closely with India business leadership and the Global HR Director (overseas) in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Role Overview:

You will lead the end-to-end HR function for India, acting as a strategic advisor to leadership while aligning local execution with global people strategy. The role requires strong business partnering capability, execution depth, and change leadership within a maritime operating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic HR partnering with senior leadership

- Workforce planning, organizational design, and capability building

- Talent acquisition, succession planning, L&D, and performance management

- Leading change and transformation initiatives

- Managing complex employee relations and labour law compliance

- Designing HR policies aligned with global and local standards

- Leveraging HR analytics to drive insights and business decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 15-20 years of progressive HR experience in senior HRBP / Head HR roles

- Full-time MBA from a Tier 1 institute

- Mandatory experience in shipping / maritime companies

- Experience in complex, global organizations

- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws with global HR exposure

- Proven experience in building and scaling HR frameworks

- Commercially astute, data-driven, and hands-on leader
