Head - Government Relations - City Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

About the Opportunity :

Our client is an emerging technology company building an AI-led platform focused on transforming urban mobility through innovative congestion management solutions.

They are looking for a senior leader to establish and drive their Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships function in India. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands how to navigate India's public sector ecosystem and can build long-term relationships across central, state and city governments.

This is a foundational position where you will help shape the organisation's engagement strategy with government stakeholders while enabling future pilot programmes and large-scale collaborations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and execute the organisation's government engagement strategy across India.

- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Central, State and Urban Local Government bodies.

- Engage with departments responsible for urban mobility, transport, infrastructure, smart cities and digital governance.

- Identify and prioritise target cities and states for strategic expansion.

- Build partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies and ecosystem partners.

- Support the development of concept notes, pilot proposals and stakeholder presentations.

- Understand government procurement processes and help position the organisation for future opportunities.

- Maintain structured stakeholder engagement, CRM records and partnership pipelines.

- Represent the organisation at government meetings, industry forums and policy discussions.

Ideal Candidate :

We're looking for professionals who bring:

- 12-18 years of overall experience.

- Minimum 8 years of experience working directly with or within Government institutions.

Strong experience in one or more of the following sectors:

i. Urban Mobility

ii. Smart Cities

iii. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

iv. Infrastructure

v. Transportation

vi. GovTech

vii. Public Sector Consulting

- Demonstrated ability to engage senior government officials and policymakers.

- Strong understanding of public procurement and government decision-making processes.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Fluency in English and Hindi; additional regional language proficiency is an advantage.
