The finance function plays a critical strategic role in enabling governance, transparency, and decision-making across the group, supporting a portfolio of some of India's most recognized consumer and digital brands.
About the Role
As the organization continues to expand and evolve, it is creating a dedicated leadership role to strengthen its Financial Reporting & Compliance function.
The Head - Financial Reporting & Compliance will own the end-to-end financial reporting ecosystem across the group, ensuring accuracy, control, and regulatory compliance while driving process excellence and automation. This is a high-impact leadership position that partners closely with the CFO's office, statutory auditors, and senior business stakeholders.
The role reports to the Vice President - Finance and will lead a team of 9-10 finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Lead the preparation and finalization of Standalone and Consolidated Financial Statements in compliance with Ind AS.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all statutory and management reporting.
- Review critical accounting judgments, provisions, estimates, and disclosures.
2. Audit Management
- Drive the planning and execution of interim and annual statutory audits.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and resolution of complex accounting matters.
3. Period-End Close Management
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Establish robust closing calendars and governance mechanisms.
- Partner with Business Finance teams to perform P&L reviews and variance analysis.
4. Balance Sheet Governance
- Drive comprehensive monthly balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations.
- Ensure all balance sheet items are appropriately supported and validated.
- Strengthen ownership and accountability across finance functions.
5. Group Accounting & Intercompany Management
- Oversee accounting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions across entities.
- Ensure timely balance confirmations and elimination entries for group consolidation.
- Maintain consistency in accounting policies and reporting practices.
6. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, Ind AS, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Employee Benefit Trust Accounting
- Oversee accounting, audit, and governance of Provident Fund, Gratuity, and Superannuation Trusts.
- Coordinate with actuaries and payroll teams for periodic actuarial valuations.
8. Internal Controls & Process Excellence
- Strengthen Internal Financial Controls (IFC) framework across the organization.
- Partner with Internal Audit teams to identify and remediate control gaps.
- Drive standardization of accounting processes and governance practices.
Educational Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory.
- Preferably 2011 or 2012 pass-out.
- Strong academic consistency with a B.Com to CA completion gap of not more than three years.
- 12-15 years of post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Financial Reporting, Consolidation, Audit Management, and Regulatory Compliance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Ind AS / IFRS, balance sheet governance, provisions, and financial controls.
- Experience managing complex multi-entity reporting environments is essential.
