Role Overview:
Director, Finance heads the finance function and leads the strategy planning, controls & compliances and oversees the financial planning function. She/he acts as a trusted advisor of the companys CXOs in financial decisioning. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, with great analytical skills, and a proven track record and in-depth knowledge of key finance functions. Experience of working in a services organization with an offshore-onshore model would be a big plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO, CXOs, and senior leadership team
- Drive financial strategy aligned with business objectives across India and US operations
- Provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions, margin optimization, and cost efficiency
- Provide inputs on effective allocation of resources to achieve intended strategic outcomes
- Determine vertical/project P&L which govern the sales and delivery incentive structures and actively track the same on an on-going basis
- Design, develop and implement strategies to ensure financial flexibility at all times and drive profit improvement programs to ensure a healthy bottom line
Financial Operations & Governance:
- Oversee end-to-end finance operations including accounting, controllership, compliance, and reporting
- Ensure robust internal controls, financial governance, and risk management frameworks
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory, statutory, and tax requirements (India & US)
Cash Flow Management & Treasury:
- Own cash flow planning, working capital management, and liquidity optimization
- Manage treasury operations including banking relationships, fund allocation, forex exposure, and hedging strategies
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance management
- Deliver timely and accurate financial analysis, MIS, and dashboards for leadership review
Stakeholder & CXO Engagement:
- Partner closely with CXOs and senior stakeholders to support decision-making
- Present financial insights, risks, and opportunities to Board members and executive committees
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders across functions
Team Leadership & Culture:
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance teams across geographies
- Foster a flexible, agile, and solution-oriented mindset within the finance function
- Drive continuous process improvement and adoption of best practices and automation
Key Skills & Competencies:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles
- Deep expertise in Financial planning & Analysis, finance operations, Compliance, Budgeting, Audit, MIS, Risk management.
- Strong understanding of India and US financial, regulatory, and business environments
- Proven experience in service industry financial models (revenue recognition, utilization, margins)
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including Board and CXO interactions
- Flexible mindset with ability to adapt in fast-changing, global environments
- Very strong Excel skills including experience in building financial models
- Hands-on PowerPoint experience for management communication
- An extremely proactive, self-starter mentality with excellent organizational skills
