Role Overview:
The Head of Finance will independently lead the entire finance function, covering fundraising, working capital, FP&A, commercial finance, accounting, compliance and controls. This is a hands - on leadership role requiring strong commercial judgment, execution capability and the ability to operate independently in a lean, founder - led environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cash flows, treasury, collections, inventory, receivables and payables.
- Improve the working - capital cycle and evaluate bill discounting and other financing solutions.
- Lead debt raising for working capital and capex requirements.
- Support and independently manage equity fundraising and investor due diligence.
- Build relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions and investors.
- Prepare financial models, projections, lender presentations and fundraising documentation.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, MIS and budget - versus - actual analysis.
- Establish product costing, margin and profitability reporting.
- Support pricing, contracts, commercial negotiations and strategic decisions.
- Partner with manufacturing, procurement, sales and supply - chain teams.
- Oversee accounting, taxation, GST, audits and statutory compliance.
- Establish financial controls, approval processes and SOPs.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closure.
- Lead and develop the existing finance and accounting team.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant with 8 - 12 years of relevant experience.
- Meaningful experience in a manufacturing business is mandatory.
- Demonstrated, hands - on experience in both debt and equity fundraising is mandatory.
- Strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions and/or investors.
- Strong understanding of working capital, treasury, cash flows, collections and inventory.
- Hands - on exposure to FP&A, MIS, budgeting, costing and profitability analysis.
- Experience managing accounting, audit, taxation, compliance and controls.
- Prior experience working directly with founders, promoters or senior leadership.
- Commercially sharp, execution - oriented and comfortable working independently.
