We're hiring for the profile of Head of Finance for Chennai location
Qualifications: CA/CMA/ MBA
Experience: Experience: 15+ Years (5-7 years in a senior finance role in healthcare preferred)
Budget: 35-38 LPA (including variable)
A- Job Summary
The Head - Finance will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all financial activities of the hospital. The role ensures financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and supports strategic growth initiatives aligned with the hospital's vision.
B- Key Responsibilities
1- Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Align financial strategy with hospital vision and long-term growth plans
- Lead financial planning for expansion, capacity enhancement, and new service lines
- Drive data-backed decision-making using financial and operational insights
2- Budgeting, Cost Control & Profitability
- Lead zero-based and activity-based budgeting processes
- Optimize costs without compromising patient care quality
- Conduct department-wise profitability and cost center analysis
3- Healthcare Financial Management
- Manage hospital revenue streams including OPD, IPD, diagnostics, and pharmacy
- Oversee pricing strategies, package costing, and specialty margins
- Ensure understanding and compliance with healthcare regulatory financial frameworks
4- Financial Planning & Control
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets
5- Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory laws
- Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants
- Ensure timely filings and adherence to healthcare financial regulations
6- Revenue Cycle & Cost Management
- Supervise billing, collections, and insurance/TPA settlements
- Identify and reduce revenue leakage
- Improve billing efficiency and optimize operational costs
- Monitor departmental profitability and cost centers
7- Strategic & Business Support
- Provide financial insights for expansion, new services, and investments
- Evaluate CAPEX proposals including medical equipment procurement
- Support pricing strategy and vendor/bank/insurer negotiations
8- Team Leadership & Systems
- Lead and develop finance & accounts team
- Drive implementation and optimization of HIS / ERP / HRMS systems
- Establish SOPs for finance and procurement processes
- Collaborate closely with top management and board members
9- Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage ERP and automation tools to improve financial processes
- Integrate financial systems with clinical and operational workflows
- Enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
C- Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in hospital finance and healthcare economics
- In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation and statutory compliance
- Proficiency in budgeting, MIS, financial analysis, and reporting
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency
- High ethical standards and attention to detail
D- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely completion of audits and statutory compliance
- Improvement in cash flow and receivables cycle
- Reduction in revenue leakage
- Accuracy and timeliness of MIS reporting
- Development of financial dashboards for leadership
