Candidate Profile
- CA qualification is mandatory.
- 20+ years of overall experience.
- 8 - 10+ years of experience in Shared Services, GBS, Finance Operations and/or Finance Transformation leadership.
- Proven experience managing large teams and multi-location operations.
- Experience in Pharma, Healthcare, Manufacturing, FMCG, Chemicals or Global Capability Centres would be preferred.
- Strong exposure to P2P, O2C and R2R processes.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance.
- Experience with SAP/S4HANA, automation, digitalisation and process excellence.
- Strong stakeholder-management and change-leadership capabilities.
Role Overview
The Head of Global Business Shared Services will lead end-to-end Finance Shared Services operations across multiple business units and geographies.
The role will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective and scalable business services while establishing strong governance, service delivery standards and performance metrics.
The leader will also drive a strong agenda around operational excellence, finance transformation, automation, digitalisation and productivity improvement, while building a customer-centric, high-performance shared-services organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shared Services Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end Finance Shared Services operations across multiple business units and geographies.
- Build a scalable and customer-centric shared-services organisation.
- Establish service delivery standards, governance frameworks, KPIs and SLAs.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
2. Record-to-Report (R2R):
- Oversee General Ledger, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reconciliations and month-end close.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Improve close-cycle timelines and reporting quality.
3. Procure-to-Pay (P2P):
- Lead Accounts Payable and vendor payment operations.
- Strengthen internal controls and compliance.
- Improve vendor experience and payment-cycle efficiency.
4. Order-to-Cash (O2C):
- Oversee billing, collections, cash application and credit management.
- Improve receivable cycles and working-capital efficiency.
- Drive effective collections and dispute resolution.
5. Governance, Controls & Compliance:
- Strengthen financial controls and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal audit requirements, SOX, wherever applicable, and statutory regulations.
- Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Tax and External Auditors.
6. Transformation & Digitalisation:
- Drive automation, robotics and AI-enabled finance processes.
- Lead ERP optimisation and finance-transformation initiatives.
- Leverage SAP/S4HANA, reporting tools, workflow automation and analytics platforms.
- Deliver measurable productivity, quality and cost improvements.
7. Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with Business CFOs, Controllers, Functional Leaders and Global Finance Teams.
- Act as a strategic advisor on finance operations, service delivery and process excellence.
- Manage relationships with external service providers and outsourcing partners.
8. People Leadership:
- Lead, develop and mentor a large finance shared-services team.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and customer service.
- Drive succession planning, capability building and talent development.
