Position Overview

The Head Finance (Closing & Reporting) will lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting, audits, compliance, and internal controls for the hotel group/property.

This role requires a detail-oriented finance leader with strong hospitality industry experience, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in line with corporate and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Closing & Reporting

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities for the hotel/property.

- Prepare, review, and finalize P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and MIS reports.

- Ensure timely submission of financial results to corporate finance and management.

- Analyse financial performance, budget variance analysis, revenue leakages, cost controls, and key KPIs (RevPAR, GOP, ADR, occupancy, etc.).

Hotel Finance Operations

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, General Ledger, payroll, and income audit.

- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately as per hotel industry standards and HACCP/USALI guidelines.

- Monitor cash flows, working capital, CAPEX tracking, and bank reconciliations.

- Review night audit reports, daily sales summaries, and revenue reconciliation.

Compliance & Audit

- Ensure adherence to statutory compliances (GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act).

- Liaise with internal and external auditors; coordinate annual audits.

- Implement and strengthen internal control systems, SOPs, and hotel policies.

Budgeting & Forecasting

- Support annual budget preparation, long-term business planning, and rolling forecasts.

- Provide insights to management on financial risks, opportunities, and business strategies.

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team across hotel operations.

- Collaborate with department heads (Front Office, F&B, Sales, Housekeeping, Procurement) for financial discipline.

Systems & Technology

- Manage PMS and ERP finance modules ( SAP)

- Ensure proper integration of POS, PMS, and inventory management systems with finance.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong financial closing and reporting expertise.

- Deep understanding of hotel accounting

- Strong analytical and variance analysis capability.

- Proficiency in hotel finance systems and ERP tools.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- High attention to detail and process orientation.

Qualification & Experience

- CA

- 10-15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in the hotel industry.

- Proven experience in financial closing, reporting, audits, and compliance.
