About the role:

They are looking to hire a Head of Finance to partner closely with the Founder and leadership team during an exciting phase of scale-up and expansion.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially driven finance professional who can combine strong FP&A capabilities with operational finance, manufacturing finance, and strategic business partnering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Business Finance

- Lead Annual Operating Plans (AOP), budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term strategic planning

- Drive monthly MIS reviews, EBITDA analysis, and channel-wise profitability tracking

- Build robust financial models for pricing, new product launches, expansion plans, and strategic initiatives

- Deliver variance analysis and actionable commercial insights to leadership teams

- Monitor KPIs across D2C, marketplace, retail, and distribution businesses

2. Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance

- Own manufacturing unit economics including BOM costing, conversion costs, yield analysis, and wastage control

- Drive COGS optimization initiatives through vendor negotiations and process efficiencies

- Support capacity expansion and capex decisions through ROI and IRR-based financial modelling

- Partner with supply chain teams on production planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization

3. Inventory & Working Capital Management

- Drive visibility across RM, WIP, and finished goods inventory

- Lead stock ageing analysis, provisioning frameworks, and inventory controls

- Improve working capital cycles across receivables, payables, and inventory turns

- Implement demand-driven Open-to-Buy (OTB) frameworks

4. Retail & E-Commerce Finance

- Own store-level profitability and retail channel performance

- Manage marketplace finance including payouts, commissions, disputes, and refunds

- Drive D2C profitability through CAC, LTV/CAC, ROAS, and payback analysis

- Evaluate returns economics, reverse logistics costs, and leakage controls

5. Financial Controllership & Compliance

- Ensure strong month-end closure discipline and internal controls

- Lead statutory audits, internal audits, and investor-ready financial reporting

- Oversee GST, multi-state taxation, and regulatory compliance

- Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies

6. ERP & Automation

- Lead ERP integration across manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce operations

- Drive reporting automation and finance digitization initiatives

- Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and business visibility

7. Strategic Finance & Fundraising

- Partner with founders on pricing strategy, margin improvement, and business expansion decisions

- Support fundraising activities including investor reporting, diligence, and board presentations

- Evaluate strategic investments, category expansion, and growth initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 12 to 16 years of experience across FP&A, business finance, controllership, and commercial finance

- Experience in FMCG, consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or D2C businesses

- Prior exposure to high-growth or scale-up environments preferred

- Strong experience partnering directly with Founders, CXOs, or investors

Technical Skills

- Qualified CA is mandatory

- Strong financial modelling and MIS capabilities

- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar tools

- Working knowledge of Power BI or visualization tools preferred

- Strong understanding of GST, Ind AS, and statutory compliance
