About the Role:

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function, providing strategic direction, financial oversight, and operational leadership across finance, accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. The role is responsible for ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and effective governance across business units. This senior leadership role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

- Define and execute the finance strategy to support business growth and operational objectives.

- Provide financial insights and leadership to executive management on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.

- Partner with cross-functional leaders to align financial plans with business goals and operational priorities.

- Drive financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

- Lead preparation, review, and presentation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies.

- Oversee audit coordination, external reporting, and stakeholder engagements with auditors and regulators.

- Maintain high standards of financial transparency and governance.

Operational Finance & Controls:

- Oversee accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial transactions, reconciliations, and ledger management.

- Implement and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.

- Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.

- Monitor financial performance metrics and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across accounting, reporting, and operational functions.

- Establish clear performance expectations, career development paths, and training programs to enhance competency.

- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Act as a key finance representative to internal teams, clients, investors, and external partners.

- Provide clear and actionable insights to executive leadership, board members, and key decision-makers.

- Lead financial discussions and presentations with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.

Risk Management & Governance:

- Identify key financial and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, risk management protocols, and ethical standards.

- Monitor compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory obligations across jurisdictions.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Education:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional finance qualification.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, including significant experience in financial services, fund accounting, or corporate finance.

- Proven experience managing finance teams and driving financial performance in complex organizations.

- Strong exposure to financial reporting frameworks, compliance requirements, and audit processes.

Technical Skills:

- Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced analytics tools.

- Experience implementing financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
