Job Description:

We are looking for a Head - Finance and Controlling for a large manufacturing company.

Initial Location: Palwal, Haryana (Delhi-NCR)

Future Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu - in the near future

Company Scale: Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturing | 1,500+ Crore Turnover

Position Overview:

We are seeking a high-caliber, mobile, and result-oriented financial leader to head our Finance & Accounting function. Initially based at manufacturing ecosystem, you will deeply embed yourself in plant commercial operations, costing, and financial controls. This role may systematically transition, where you will assume broader strategic responsibilities. The ideal candidate must possess deep expertise in the automotive ecosystem, handling high-volume manufacturing margins, OEM dynamics, and large-scale teams, alongside the flexibility to relocate as per the business roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Commercial, Costing & Operational Control (Initial Phase Focus):

- Supervise robust product costing, standard costing systems, and Bill of Materials (BOM) audits across operations.

- Manage volatile raw material price indexation (Steel, Aluminum, Plastics) and drive complex commercial discussions/price-escalation tracking with OEMs.

- Establish strict internal controls over inventory valuation, supply chain logistics, and scrap management.

- Drive cost-reduction frameworks (VA-VE) and closely monitor plant operational variances to maximize EBITDA.

2. Strategic Financial Planning & Succession Transition:

- Partner with executive leadership to formulate annual operating plans (AOP), capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, and long-term business strategies.

- Lead the financial readiness of the unit during the strategic transition phase, ensuring seamless process and knowledge transfer.

- Prepare for an expanded corporate/regional portfolio upon relocation, aligning local plant financial health with macro corporate goals.

3. Financial Control, Accounting & Reporting:

- Oversee the timely and accurate closing of books and presentation of financial statements in compliance with IndAS and statutory frameworks.

- Maintain a foolproof internal control framework (ICFR) across the procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles.

- Serve as the primary interface for statutory, internal, and cost auditors.

4. Treasury, Working Capital & Compliance:

- Optimize working capital cycles (DSO, Inventory Days, and DPO) to maintain robust liquidity.

- Ensure 100% compliance with Direct and Indirect Tax regulations (GST, Customs, Transfer Pricing).

- Leverage and optimize government fiscal incentives applicable to the automotive sector (e.g., PLI schemes).

Desired Profile & Qualifications:

- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or ICWA / CMA is mandatory. An MBA in Finance from a tier-1 institute will be an added advantage.

- Experience: 15 to 20 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (GM/DGM/Head Finance) within a large manufacturing setup.

- Industry Focus: Heavy preference for candidates from Tier-1 automotive component manufacturers or OEMs.

- Mobility: Crucial. Must be willing to be based in Palwal initially, with a clear commitment to relocate to Chennai within the mutually agreed succession timeline (typically 18-24 months).

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

- Change Management & Adaptability: Proven agility in navigating geographic transitions and scaling up roles from plant-level controls to corporate-level strategy.

- Automotive Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory risks, OEM procurement mindsets, and supply chain logistics.

- Digital Transformation: Strong hands-on experience in a highly automated SAP S/4HANA environment (FICO, MM, PP modules).

- Leadership Persona: Exceptional stakeholder management, executive presence, and the ability to mentor diverse teams across different regions of India.
