Head of Finance & Compliance:
Role Overview:
The Head of Finance & Compliance will lead the companys finance, accounting and compliance function. The role covers financial planning, reporting, fundraising, banking, working capital, taxation, manufacturing finance and ERP implementation. This is a hands-on position for a Chartered Accountant who can manage strategic priorities while remaining closely involved in execution.

- Reporting to: Founder / Chief Business Officer
- Team: Two in-house team members and an outsourced finance resource
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Controllership:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Prepare two-to-three-year cash-flow projections.
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual closure.
- Prepare financial statements, MIS and performance reports.
- Monitor budgets, margins and operating variances.
- Ensure correct revenue recognition across contracts.
- Provide financial insights for key business decisions.
Fundraising, Banking and Treasury:
- Prepare the company for debt and equity fundraising.
- Build financial models, projections and lender presentations.
- Coordinate fundraising and due-diligence documentation.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Lead working-capital and term-loan requirements.
- Manage cash credit, LCs and bank guarantees.
- Oversee banking for imports, exports and insurance.
- Monitor facility utilisation, interest costs and covenants.
- Handle renewals and enhancement of banking facilities.
Cash Flow and Working Capital:
- Maintain regular cash-flow forecasts.
- Plan funding for procurement and project execution.
- Improve receivables, inventory and payable cycles.
- Monitor collections, ageing and overdue accounts.
- Establish collection and escalation processes.
- Optimise vendor payments without disrupting operations.
Manufacturing and Commercial Finance:
- Strengthen controls across procurement and inventory.
- Establish accurate BOM and product costing.
- Monitor inventory valuation, ageing and obsolescence.
- Analyse material and manufacturing cost variances.
- Track product-, customer- and contract-level margins.
- Review major customer and vendor contracts.
- Align billing with contractual milestones and collections.
- Ensure correct accounting for imports and foreign currency.
Taxation, Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure timely GST, TDS and income-tax compliance.
- Coordinate statutory, tax and internal audits.
- Manage DPIIT-related tax-exemption documentation.
- Establish financial controls, SOPs and approval processes.
- Maintain a statutory and regulatory compliance calendar.
- Coordinate with auditors, bankers and external advisors.
ERP, Processes and Team Leadership:
- Lead finance-related aspects of ERP implementation.
- Improve accounting, inventory and reporting workflows.
- Integrate financial and operational information.
- Automate finance processes where practical.
- Strengthen the internal finance function.
- Lead the existing team and outsourced partner.
- Work closely with leadership and business teams.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant; mandatory.
- Approximately 8-15 years of relevant experience.
- Strong financial controllership and reporting experience.
- Demonstrated debt-fundraising and banking experience.
- Experience with working capital, treasury and taxation.
- Knowledge of LCs, BGs and banking facilities.
- Exposure to fundraising models and documentation.
- Manufacturing-sector experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and product costing.
- ERP implementation or improvement experience is desirable.
- Startup or founder-led company experience is preferred.
- Comfortable leading a small team while remaining hands-on.
