About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Finance & Accounts Head to take ownership of the company's accounting and finance operations in a fast-growing startup environment.

This is a hands-on role suited for a finance professional who can build finance processes from the ground up, manage accounting and payments, strengthen controls, and work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external accounting/CA partners.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end accounting and finance operations, ensuring accuracy and timely closure.

- Lead the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, including purchase invoices, vendor verification, approvals, payment processing, and reconciliation.

- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), vendor payments, payment schedules, and vendor relationships.

- Oversee vendor onboarding, documentation, payment terms, and outstanding payables.

- Manage accounting for CapEx, procurement, assets, and project-related expenditures.

- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely monthly/periodic financial closures.

- Monitor cash outflows, payment requirements, and short-term cash planning.

- Build and implement finance processes, controls, workflows, and documentation from scratch.

- Establish appropriate approval matrices and internal controls for procurement and payments.

- Coordinate with external CA, accounting, tax, and statutory compliance firms.

- Support statutory and regulatory requirements and ensure timely submission of required information to external advisors.

- Prepare MIS and financial reports for management, including payables, cash flow, expenses, and CapEx.

- Identify process gaps and implement automation and improvements across finance operations.

- Partner with procurement, operations, and leadership teams to ensure effective financial controls and timely payments.

- Support the finance function as the organization scales and financial complexity increases.

What We're Looking For:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory.

- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in startups, preferably in a fast-growing or early-stage environment.

- Strong hands-on experience across accounting, Accounts Payable, P2P, vendor management, and payments.

- Experience managing finance operations in a manufacturing, deep-tech, engineering, aerospace, hardware, or CapEx-intensive startup would be preferred.

- Strong understanding of CapEx accounting, procurement accounting, vendor reconciliations, and cash management.

- Experience in building finance processes, controls, and SOPs from the ground up.

- Comfortable working with external CA/accounting firms for statutory and compliance-related activities.

- Strong proficiency in accounting software/ERP and MS Excel.

- Excellent attention to detail, ownership, and problem-solving ability.

- Ability to work independently and operate in a fast-paced startup environment.
