
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Head of Finance and Accounts to lead the financial strategy and operational excellence for our FMCG business in Chennai. In this leadership capacity, you will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board, overseeing the entire spectrum of financial operations including financial accounting, commercial finance, and rigorous internal controls. You will lead a high-performing finance team, collaborating closely with supply chain, sales, and marketing heads to drive profitability and operational efficiency. Your work will directly influence the company bottom line, ensuring robust fiscal health and sustainable growth in a highly competitive consumer products landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes to ensure absolute compliance with statutory requirements and internal financial standards.
- Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing actionable insights to leadership to optimize resource allocation and capital expenditure.
- Manage commercial finance operations by analyzing product-level profitability and market trends to support data-driven decision-making across the FMCG value chain.
- Strengthen the internal control environment and oversee internal audits to mitigate operational risks and safeguard company assets.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function to track key performance indicators and identify opportunities for cost rationalization and revenue growth.
- Ensure seamless regulatory compliance and tax management, maintaining transparent communication with external auditors and financial stakeholders.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrate deep expertise in financial accounting and commercial finance within the FMCG or staples industry, with a proven track record of managing complex P&L structures.
- Exhibit strong leadership capabilities to mentor cross-functional teams and foster a culture of accountability and financial discipline across the organization.
- Possess exceptional analytical and communication skills, enabling you to translate complex financial data into strategic narratives for non-finance stakeholders.
- Maintain a high degree of adaptability to thrive in an on-site, fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment in Chennai.
- Hold a professional qualification such as CA, complemented by 15 - 20 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to process improvement, leveraging financial technology to streamline reporting and enhance data integrity.
