Role Overview:

The Head - Finance & Accounts will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the finance and accounting function of the manufacturing business.

The role will oversee financial planning and analysis, accounting, taxation, working capital, treasury, cost control, budgeting, statutory compliance, internal controls and management reporting. The incumbent will work closely with the Plant Head, Business Leadership and Corporate Finance team to support profitable and sustainable business growth.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Business Finance:

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

- Develop financial models and business projections to support management decisions.

- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improvement in financial performance.

- Provide financial insights to business and plant leadership.

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

- Oversee complete accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.

- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.

- Establish strong financial controls and reporting processes.

Cost Management & Plant Finance:

- Monitor manufacturing costs, overheads and operating expenses.

- Analyse product costing, production variances and cost drivers.

- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations teams to improve cost efficiency.

- Establish effective cost-control mechanisms across the plant.

- Support management in evaluating capital expenditure and operational investments.

Working Capital & Treasury:

- Manage working-capital requirements and cash-flow planning.

- Monitor receivables, payables and inventory levels.

- Develop strategies for improving cash conversion and liquidity.

- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions on banking facilities and working-capital requirements.

- Monitor cash flows and ensure appropriate funding availability.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance:

- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance.

- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, income-tax and other applicable statutory returns.

- Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors and regulatory authorities.

- Manage tax assessments, notices and related compliance matters.

- Ensure adherence to applicable financial and regulatory requirements.

Audit & Internal Controls:

- Coordinate statutory, internal, tax and other financial audits.

- Strengthen internal financial controls and accounting processes.

- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.

- Maintain appropriate documentation and financial governance.

MIS & Management Reporting:

- Develop periodic financial MIS for senior management.

- Track revenue, profitability, EBITDA, working capital, cash flow and cost performance.

- Present financial performance and key business insights to leadership.

- Establish appropriate financial KPIs and dashboards.

Commercial Finance:

- Review commercial and financial aspects of major contracts and business arrangements.

- Support procurement and supply-chain teams on commercial negotiations.

- Monitor vendor payments, customer collections and contractual obligations.

- Evaluate financial implications of major business decisions.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and develop the Finance & Accounts team.

- Establish clear responsibilities, performance objectives and operating processes.

- Build finance capability across accounting, commercial finance and plant finance.

- Promote strong financial discipline and governance within the organization.

Education & Experience:

Qualification: CA / CMA / MBA Finance

Experience: 15-25 Years

Relevant Experience: Manufacturing Finance / Plant Finance / Commercial Finance
