Head - Finance & Accounts - Bio CNG Startup

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Head - Finance & Accounts for a fast-growing, funded startup operating in India's clean energy ecosystem. This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with founders and investors to build and scale a robust finance function.

The role combines strategic finance, fundraising, compliance, and project finance, particularly for Bio-CNG (Compressed Biogas) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes

- Drive strategic financial decision-making in collaboration with leadership

- Develop scalable financial models to support growth and expansion

2. Fundraising & Investor Relations

- Lead equity and debt fundraising initiatives

- Build and manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions

- Prepare investor decks, financial projections, and due diligence materials

3. Accounting, Compliance & Governance

- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, and audits

- Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and reporting standards

4. Project Finance & Capex Management

- Lead project finance activities for Bio-CNG plants

- Evaluate capital expenditure, project viability, and ROI metrics

- Coordinate with lenders, EPC partners, and internal stakeholders

5. Systems, Processes & Team Building

- Build scalable finance systems, processes, and MIS reporting

- Drive automation and efficiency across finance operations

- Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team

Candidate Profile:

Qualification: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent

Experience: 15+ years in finance & accounting roles, with leadership exposure

Preferred Experience:

Strong background in:

- Project finance and capex-heavy businesses

- Experience in startups, renewable energy, infrastructure, or manufacturing is highly preferred
