Role Overview:
Our client is a well-established charitable organisation with a long-standing legacy and a significant multi-location presence across North India. The organisation is committed to creating meaningful social impact while maintaining strong standards of financial governance, transparency, and accountability.
The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong accounting processes, statutory and tax compliance, effective financial controls, budgeting, treasury management, and audit readiness. The individual will work closely with senior leadership and the Board to ensure financial discipline and effective utilisation of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end Finance & Accounts operations across the organisation and its multiple locations.
- Oversee accounting, book closure, financial reporting, reconciliations, payables, receivables and general ledger management.
- Drive the annual budgeting process and monitor actual performance against budgets.
- Manage cash flows, banking relationships, treasury activities and working capital requirements.
- Ensure timely compliance with direct and indirect taxes, statutory requirements and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee compliance and reporting requirements related to FCRA, grants and donor-funded programmes, where applicable.
- Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs and accounting processes across locations.
- Ensure timely preparation of MIS and financial reports for senior leadership and the Board.
- Drive cost control and identify opportunities to improve financial and operational efficiency.
- Lead and develop the Accounts & Finance team and ensure consistent processes across the organisation.
Candidate Profile:
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance or equivalent finance qualification preferred.
- Approximately 12-18 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance, with experience managing teams and independently owning the finance function.
- Strong hands-on experience across accounting, taxation, audits, budgeting, treasury and statutory compliance.
- Experience with charitable organisations, trusts, NGOs, healthcare, education or other multi-location organisations would be preferred.
- Exposure to FCRA, grant accounting and donor reporting would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and accounting processes.
- Comfortable working in a purpose-driven organisation and partnering closely with senior leadership and the Board.
