Role Overview:
The Area Manager - Mortgage is responsible for driving profitable growth across an assigned cluster by managing connector-led sales, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and ensuring operational excellence. The role focuses on achieving business targets, maintaining portfolio quality, expanding market presence, and building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the Mortgage business for the assigned locations/cluster.
- Drive profitable sales growth, ensuring achievement of volume, value, and IRR targets.
- Manage and grow the Connector network, ensuring productivity and engagement.
- Ensure 100% compliance with credit policies, processes, and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and penetrate new catchment areas to enhance market coverage month-on-month.
- Identify upcoming markets and lead new branch / operations setup in those locations.
- Understand customer requirements and ensure quick turnaround and service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to generate repeat and referral business.
- Act as a key escalation point for critical customer and partner issues.
- Monitor portfolio quality and ensure delinquency and credit costs remain within defined thresholds.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting norms and risk frameworks.
- Drive early warning mechanisms and corrective actions to maintain portfolio health.
- Lead, coach, and motivate sales and operations teams across the cluster.
- Ensure optimal staffing, team grooming, engagement, and minimal attrition.
- Assess training needs and implement development initiatives to improve team productivity and performance.
- Track business productivity metrics and ensure efficient operations across locations.
- Ensure timely MIS reporting, business reviews, and action plans.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Credit, Operations, Product, and Risk teams.
- Introduce and implement sales promotion and marketing initiatives in coordination with the Product and Marketing teams.
- Drive local campaigns and connector engagement programs to boost business volumes.
Experience - 6-10 years of total experience, with minimum 4-6 years in secured lending, preferably Mortgage / Home Loans / LAP.
