Role Purpose:
To design and execute a scalable national capability strategy focused on Havells and Lloyd businesses, strengthening sales advisor productivity, effectiveness, channel partner capability, product expertise, customer experience, and leadership capability across categories.
The role will convert Havells and Lloyd business priorities into measurable learning interventions, ensuring strong adoption, governance, and business impact through field-led execution and data-backed training analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the annual Havells and Lloyd National Training and Capability Development strategy aligned with business priorities, category growth plans, and sales productivity.
- Translate Havells and Lloyd business gaps into role-wise competency frameworks, learning journeys, academies, certifications, coaching and reinforcement plans.
- Build differentiated capability programs for Sales Officers/Executives, Sales Advisors, Territory/Area Managers, Channel Partners, Retailers and future leaders.
- Own national training calendar, category-wise prioritization, deployment model, trainer capacity and governance for both Havells and Lloyd verticals.
- Lead product, category, selling-skills, behavioral, digital and leadership learning interventions across businesses.
- Establish a Train-the-Trainer and trainer certification system with common Havells-Lloyd standards, field quality audits and capability scorecards.
- Drive LMS / digital learning adoption, learning paths, assessments, certification, dashboards and MIS for assigned learner groups.
- Build channel capability through distributor/dealer/retailer enablement, product clinics, selling stories, merchandising knowledge and customer handling.
- Create new-product launch learning kits for Havells and Lloyd categories and ensure training readiness before commercial launch.
- Institutionalize field coaching, ride-alongs, reinforcement, micro-learning, knowledge checks and manager-led learning.
- Manage external training partners, content vendors, consultants and training budgets with clear ROI/ROE governance.
- Create a continuous improvement culture through feedback, analytics, best-practice sharing and learning innovation.
Preferred candidate profile:
- Postgraduate qualification in HR, Learning and Development, Business Management, Sales or related discipline preferred.
- Typically 10 years plus relevant experience, including substantial responsibility for national/regional training.
- Experience in consumer durables, consumer electricals, FMCG, retail, telecom, automotive or another distributed sales/service environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing trainers, large learner populations, LMS/digital learning and external partners.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, analytics, project management and business communication skills.
