Key Responsibilities
Financial Structuring & Capital Raising
- Lead the end-to-end financing process for infrastructure/industrial/energy projects, including financial modeling, feasibility analysis, and risk-return assessments.
- Identify appropriate financing mechanisms such as non-recourse loans, syndicated loans, mezzanine finance, green bonds, and public-private partnerships (PPPs).
- Manage the entire debt and equity raising lifecycle, including preparing IMs (Information Memorandums), pitch decks, and investor communications.
Stakeholder & Lender Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international lenders, multilateral agencies ( IFC, ADB, World Bank), private equity funds, and credit rating agencies).
- Negotiate financial covenants, interest rates, repayment structures, and conditions precedent with lenders and legal advisors.
- Coordinate with legal, commercial, and technical teams for financial closure of deals.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Work closely with business leaders and the CFO to assess capital requirements for new and ongoing projects.
- Contribute to long-term financial planning, CAPEX planning, and treasury risk management strategies.
- Identify opportunities for refinancing or restructuring of existing loans to reduce cost of capital and improve liquidity.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Assess financial risks associated with project execution, market dynamics, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance with financial covenants, statutory reporting requirements, and regulatory filings (RBI, SEBI, etc.
- Oversee due diligence, KYC, and ESG-related financial disclosures where applicable.
Team Leadership & Process Excellence
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals engaged in project finance, treasury, and corporate finance functions.
- Drive adoption of best practices in financial reporting, scenario modeling, and analytics to enhance decision-making.
- Represent the organization at board meetings, investor reviews, and financial conferences.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 12+ years of progressive experience in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking with leadership exposure.
- Hands-on experience in raising funds for infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, manufacturing, or utilities.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, DCF/NPV/IRR techniques, risk analysis, and deal structuring.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a strong network in the banking and investment community.
- Prior experience in financial closures of projects > 500 Cr or USD 100 Mn is preferred.
- Adept at using financial systems, Excel, ERP, and BI tools for reporting and analysis.
