Role Overview

The Senior Sales Manager will lead key account management initiatives for advanced filtration and bioprocess solutions across Indias pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical landscape. The role focuses on identifying critical application needs, influencing decision-makers, and driving adoption of high-performance filtration technologies across biologics, vaccines, large molecule APIs, and high-purity manufacturing environments.

This is a consultative and strategic sales role requiring deep engagement across R&D, QA, MSAT, process engineering, and manufacturing functions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical & Application Understanding

- Identify the exact application and process step where filtration solutions will be deployed (e.g., buffer preparation, API manufacturing, sterile filtration, viral clearance).

- Assess the phase of the customers drug/product life cycle to determine validation depth, testing requirements, and commercialization timelines.

- Recommend filtration systems and solutions that optimize process yield, product purity, and compliance.

2. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

- Map and engage key decision-makers across R&D, quality assurance, process engineering, MSAT, and manufacturing.

- Conduct technical discussions, capability presentations, and proof-of-performance demonstrations.

- Build long-term strategic relationships with biopharma, vaccine manufacturers, and pharma R&D centres.

3. Business Development & Market Expansion

- Focus on fast-growing segments such as biologics, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and cell & gene therapies.

- Tailor and position filtration solutions for applications like viral clearance, protein purification, sterile processing, and media/buffer filtration.

- Establish collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and CMOs to integrate solutions into their manufacturing platforms.

4. Strategic Account Management

- Manage the entire sales cycle including lead generation, technical qualification, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.

- Track validation cycles and coordinate documentation, quality approvals, and supply chain alignment.

- Utilize market intelligence and competitor insights to refine sales strategy and enhance account penetration.

5. Performance & Revenue Delivery

- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets through focused account planning.

- Expand wallet share within existing accounts and onboard new high-value pharma/biopharma customers.

- Report opportunity pipelines, forecast accuracy, and risk mitigation plans.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical disciplines.

Experience:

- 8-12 years of experience in technical sales within pharma/biopharma, filtration, single-use systems, or process consumables.

- Strong exposure to bioprocess workflows, sterile filtration, or upstream/downstream processes is highly preferred.

- Proven track record of managing large pharma/biopharma accounts and long sales cycles.
