Role Overview: As the Legal Head, based in Gurgaon/Gurugram, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters for Geniemode. You will provide strategic legal advice to the leadership team, manage legal risks, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves working closely with various internal teams, external legal counsel, and regulatory bodies to protect the company's interests and support its continued growth. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex legal challenges and ensuring the company operates with the highest ethical standards. Key Responsibilities: - Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the leadership team on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate law, contract law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. - Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests in all areas of operation. - Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer agreements, and partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company. - Manage all litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, preparing legal documents, and representing the company in legal proceedings. - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy laws, anti-corruption laws, and industry-specific regulations. - Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to promote ethical business practices and prevent legal violations. - Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise the company on the potential impact of these changes. - Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development. - Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, patent applications, and protection of trade secrets. - Conduct legal due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Required Skillset: - Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior management on complex legal issues. - Proven expertise in corporate law, contract management, regulatory compliance, and litigation. - Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to non-legal audiences. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess legal risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. - Experience in managing and mentoring a team of legal professionals. - Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) and a Master's degree in Law (LLM) from a recognized university. - Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in a legal role, preferably with experience in the e-commerce or technology industry. - Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. -Start-up experience alongside IPO is preferred.
