Description:

General Manager Project (Contractual).

Job Location: Lignite Project Lakhpat Punrajpur, Kutch (Gujarat).

Name of Post & Number of Vacancies:

Post: General Manager Project (Contract).

Vacancies: 01 (One).

Period of Contract:

The appointment will be on a contractual basis for an initial period of two (2) years, which may be extended further up to one (1) year at a time, subject to:

- Functional requirements.

- Performance appraisal.

- Medical fitness.

The total contract period shall not exceed five (5) years.

Job Profile / Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

- Plan, execute, and monitor coal/lignite mining projects from inception to commissioning.

- Prepare detailed project plans including scope, timelines, budgets, manpower, and equipment deployment.

- Ensure adherence to approved DPRs, mining plans, and annual production targets.

Operations Management:

- Oversee mining operations including overburden removal, lignite extraction, dispatch, and logistics.

- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal departments for smooth operations.

- Monitor productivity, cost efficiency, and equipment performance.

Financial Management:

- Control project costs and ensure execution within approved budgets.

- Manage contracts, certify bills, handle claims/disputes, and vendor payments.

- Track CAPEX and OPEX and report variances to management.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, MMRD Act, DGMS regulations, environmental and forest clearances, labour laws, and other statutory requirements.

- Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and auditors as required.

Safety & Risk Management:

- Implement and monitor safety management systems and best mining practices.

- Promote a zero-harm culture through training, audits, and risk assessments.

- Ensure compliance with environmental management plans, mine reclamation, and sustainability initiatives.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of mining engineers, geologists, technicians, and operators.

- Foster a positive work culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management:

- Maintain effective relationships with local communities, government bodies, investors, and suppliers.

- Address stakeholder concerns through structured communication and engagement initiatives.

Exploration & Development:

- Oversee exploration programs to identify new mineral deposits and assess economic viability.

- Lead feasibility studies, mine planning, permitting, and infrastructure development for new projects.

Production Optimization:

- Implement strategies to maximize production efficiency and mineral recovery.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.

Project Management:

- Manage large-scale mining projects from concept to completion within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to achieve project milestones.

- Act as Head of Mines Lakhpat Punrajpur Project.

- Perform any other duties assigned by Division Heads from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria:

Essential Qualifications:

- First Class Manager Certificate under CMR/MMR issued by DGMS.

Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of total experience.

- At least 5 years in a senior leadership/managerial role in mining projects.

Skills:

- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.

- Proficiency in computer applications.

Remuneration:

Monthly consolidated remuneration will be negotiable and based on the candidates previous/current remuneration.

Travelling Allowance:

Tour-related travelling allowance, if any, shall be payable as per applicable rules and norms.

Terms of Contract:

The engagement is purely contractual and shall not confer any right for regular appointment.

Selection Procedure:

- Applications will be scrutinized by a Selection Committee.

- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

- Travel expenses (Economy Class Airfare / First Class AC Train / Bus fare) will be reimbursed as per applicable norms.

- The decision of the competent authority shall be final and binding.
